SriLankan Airlines has announced that wireless inflight entertainment will be introduced on select narrow-body A320 aircraft. It means passengers on short-haul flights will be able to stream curated content from SriLankan’s inflight entertainment library on their own devices.
Powered by the Everhub wireless streaming solution from Inflight Dublin, passengers will be able to use their smartphones, tablets or laptops to access and stream on-demand content via the airline’s Wi-Fi network, SkyPlus, without the need for seatback screens. The airline’s inflight entertainment library contains movies and TV shows in a variety of languages and genres, as well as music ranging from local classics to international hits.
SriLankan Airlines pointed to the light weight of the wireless system as a factor that will bring greater fuel efficiency, resulting in savings and lower emissions.
