Sneakers become part of Eurowings’ everyday look

Eurowings is expanding its successful ‘Sneaker Airline’ initiative so that crew members of Germany’s largest leisure airline can now wear their white sports shoes with the Eurowings logo as part of their everyday uniform.

Previously, this was only permitted on Fridays as part of the so-called ‘Sneaker Flydays’.

Eurowings now operates under the motto: ‘Sneakers any day’ with the Lufthansa Group airline responding to its employees’ wish for greater comfort during their day-to-day operations.

It also helps give the cabin crew a fresh look with a modern touch. The training shoes bring visible ‘good vibes’ onboard and reflect a contemporary travel experience that fits the airline’s identity. Eurowings brand promise is ‘more ease for everyone.’

The white training shoes are seen by employees as especially comfortable and authentic. The positive response goes well beyond the crews themselves: many passengers regularly comment favourably on the sneakers in customer feedback and on social media – the look is proving a hit with both passengers and crews.

Max Kownatzki, CEO of Eurowings, commented: “Whether travelling for business or leisure, no other shoe combines professionalism, comfort and ease quite as naturally as the sneaker. The modern look also underlines our identity as Europe’s value airline – with a clear ambition to differentiate ourselves from the traditional low-cost competition. That applies not only to the quality of our products and services, but also to the way we present ourselves.”
