John Caulcutt, Co-founder and Director of Plane Talking Products, has been awarded Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in His Majesty’s New Year’s Honours List.
The CBE has been awarded in recognition of John’s services to charity and philanthropy. John has raised millions for various charities through music, his travels and extensive international contacts – many of whom he met through his long service in the aviation industry.
“I am absolutely humbled by the nomination because it is not all just about me. I am always part of a bigger team and would always want to remember all those people who worked with me on all the projects around the world to make it possible,” said John.
These projects include raising over £1 million in March 2020 for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, working with Shelter Box to provide temporary housing in India after the 2004 tsunami, aid flights into Haiti after the earthquake and Iraq during the war.
More recently, with the support of Plane Talking and its customers, John organised three van loads of donations to be delivered to Ukrainian refugees.
