The annual Casello d’Oro Awards, run by The Consortium for the Protection of Parmigiano Reggiano PDO, held a spectacular evening at the British Museum in London celebrating the craftsmanship and heritage of the ‘King of Cheeses’.
An expert panel of international chefs and prominent cheese buyers included Gennaro Contaldo, mentor to Jamie Oliver and bestselling cookbook author, and Cathy Strange, Whole Foods Market’s ambassador for food culture.
Awards were presented to 13 winning dairies following blind tastings of 24-month aged samples.
