United Airlines and Hallmark Channel have introduced Miles Apart, a four-minute short film with a festive theme.
The movie has been on United flights since November 1. Travellers can find it in the entertainment mode section of United’s seatback screens, as well as in the Wi-Fi and entertainment section of the United app.
Miles Apart stars Ginna Claire Mason, who played Glinda in Wicked on Broadway and roles in the Hallmark Channel films A Carol For Two and A Heidelberg Holiday. She plays the role of Angela.
Miles Apart is a tale of rekindled romance, onboard connections and holiday magic. The story follows a traveller flying back to her job in the city as she overshares with her fellow passengers and crew about a complicated reunion over the holidays with her ex, Miles Poole – a nod to the airline’s miles pooling feature.
The mini-movie includes a cameo appearance by Mason’s husband Eric, who is a United pilot in real life.
As is the tradition for all United productions, every airline team member featured is a real employee of the airline.
