LNER’s First-Class menu is donning tartan colours to celebrate the Edinburgh Fringe festival this month. The UK train operator will serve Scottish delicacies on its most popular weekend services during August.
The special menu will be available from Friday to Monday on many Edinburgh services throughout the Fringe, which runs 2-26 August.
A specially selected Haggis Sausage Roll complete with ‘neeps and tatties’ (parsnips and potatoes), bacon and topped with oats and parsley is among the additions to the regular menu, along with a bite-sized sweet treat of Scottish tablet.
For passengers travelling in Standard, Scottish favourites like Irn Bru (a vibrant orange-coloured soft drink) and Tunnock’s Caramel Wafers will be available to purchase at the Café Bar or at seat service ‘Let’s Eat At Your Seat’.

We love to celebrate special events, like the Fringe, which will attract many thousands of people to Edinburgh. We look forward to welcoming visitors onboard and hope they enjoy our special menu, which will be served on our most popular weekend trains during August.”
LNER states it is committed to championing local food and drink producers along its 956-mile route, with suppliers handpicked for the quality of their produce as well as their responsible approach to production.
