Letronics is a first-time exhibitor at the Aircraft Interiors Expo (AIX) and is showcasing the Wiselift WL780 PRM transfer lift, designed to facilitate lifting disabled passengers into aircraft seats.
“Our objectives are to get it in front of as many airlines as possible and airport operators in Europe,” says Gregg Cohen, CEO of Letronics. “We are seeing contacts of airport operators, wheelchair operators, service providers and airlines, and those are our target audiences.”
He explains that the lift is unique because it operates across all aircraft types, including those with herringbone seats, and does not require manual lifting.
“We are getting international exposure with our PRM lift. There’s been a lot more interest lately in facilitating disabled passengers and our PRM lift is a fleet-wide solution,” says Cohen.
“This is the only fleet-wide PRM lift that works across all fleets in main cabins. It even works on some of the unique herringbone seats in the smaller aircraft. There’s no manual lifting. It’s the only device like it with no manual lifting and fleet-wide compatibility,” he adds.
“We’ve brought in the fastest method of transferring a passenger into the aircraft seat. At the destination airport, they are met with the same type of device. It hooks up the sling and gets them off the aircraft,” says the Letronics CEO.
