LATAM launches kits with an eco twist

LATAM has launched new “Eco Kits” for passengers travelling in Premium Business, based on local design and the gradual incorporation of sustainability. The bags – created by Wessco – are designed to be reusable, versatile and unique in design, making them collectable and long-lasting.

Keeping its commitment to eliminating single-use plastics, the bag is delivered without packaging, and includes reusable materials such as a bamboo toothbrush and a sugar cane cap. The earplug packaging is made of craft paper to minimise the use of plastic and the socks and masks are made of recycled plastic.

The toiletry bag includes cosmetic products (hand cream, lip balm and a refreshing towel) produced by Feito Brasil, a brand certified as Company B (a certification that recognises management in the financial, social, and environmental fields) and its pillars are based on sustainability (Cruelty Free and Vegan, natural ingredients, raw materials and local production, handmade by craftswomen in that country).

The design is the work of South American rising artists chosen for the work they do in their communities. The first two artists to join this initiative are Tomás Olivos (Chile) and Hamilton Aguiar (Brazil). The next designs will be by artists from Ecuador, Peru, Colombia and Argentina.

Passengers on the Santiago de Chile – Madrid – Santiago de Chile and São Paulo/Guarulhos – Miami – São Paulo/Guarulhos routes will be the first to have these sustainable eco kits in the inflight service, which will be gradually implemented on the rest of the routes during 2022.
