In conversation with Archana Dharni, AIX

Archana Dharni, Event Director for AIX, outlines what’s new and trending at this year’s show

AIX 2025 builds on its strong foundation with a fresh focus on sustainability, accessibility, and digital transformation. We’re enhancing networking opportunities, ensuring attendees can connect with key decision-makers more effectively. The show will also place a greater emphasis on inclusive cabin design, with exhibitors showcasing solutions that improve accessibility for all passengers. Additionally, our conference sessions will feature more interactive discussions, tackling the challenges and opportunities shaping the industry’s future.

Tomorrow’s world

AIX is the premier global event for aircraft interiors, offering a vital platform for airlines, OEMs and suppliers to showcase the latest innovations. It is where cutting-edge seating, lighting, materials, and IFEC solutions are introduced, shaping the passenger experience of tomorrow.

AIX fosters the development of solutions to meet evolving industry needs, including the ongoing pursuit of greater sustainability and the integration of digital technologies. It’s the driving force behind innovation in aviation interiors, showcasing not just what is new, but how the industry is constantly advancing to meet these key priorities.

Hot topics

Sustainability remains a dominant theme, with exhibitors presenting lightweight materials, circular design practices, and energy-efficient cabin solutions. Passenger wellbeing is another key focus, with innovations in air quality, lighting, and seating ergonomics. IFEC continues to evolve, with AI-powered personalisation, multi-orbit satellite connectivity, and next-generation entertainment systems redefining inflight experiences.

Key discussions will centre around accessibility, as the industry collaborates to ensure air travel is inclusive for all passengers. Additionally, digital transformation, including AI-driven passenger engagement and seamless connectivity, will be explored, alongside supply chain resilience in the face of global challenges. These issues, importantly, will be viewed through a lens of sustainability, as manufacturers and airlines alike work towards achieving their Net Zero targets.

First timers

We are welcoming an exciting lineup of new exhibitors, including CesiumAstro, showcasing advanced satellite communication technology; Yokohama Aerospace America (YAA), unveiling an innovative PRM lavatory module and Better-Mold (DG) Industrial Co. Ltd, specialists in high-quality moulded components. Other new names include Fraunhofer IPK, Amerex Corp, and Senior Aerospace BWT, all bringing fresh perspectives and innovations to the show floor.

Meanwhile, we’re expecting a large number of first-time visitors and my advice to them would be to plan ahead. With hundreds of exhibitors and sessions, reviewing the agenda and prioritising key stands is essential. Visitors can download the AIX app and utilise AIX Connect. The app provides one platform to search the exhibitor and product directory, the conference programme and to easily navigate to AIX Connect where exhibitors and attendees can book in meetings to organise their schedule before the show starts.
