Natural landscapes inspire Icelandair’s new tableware

Icelandair is introducing a new tableware concept, inspired by Iceland’s natural landscapes, to its Business class.

Volcanoes, glaciers, black sands, icy waters, mossy fields and lava plains are among the physical features that influence the shapes, textures and colours of the crockery, produced in partnership with Kaelis.

Elegant and durable, the pieces feature fluid lines and tactile finishes. The design aims to connect passengers with the land that inspired the tableware with a cohesive, premium aesthetic.

The dessert and bread bowls reflect the contours and textures of glaciers. Main plates, side plates, casseroles, butter dishes and cups with saucers complete the tableware’s core set.

Designed to mix and match, the range is versatile. It includes configurations that can be adapted according to the needs of differing meal services, from snacks to dinners.

Icelandair’s commitment to a refined yet grounded passenger experience shines through in the details of thoughtfully designed tableware that reflects Icelandic identity.

This tableware is being billed as a statement of intent to elevate inflight dining beyond necessity into artistry, while setting a new standard in premium service.
