Iberia has announced a series of new updates, including a WhatsApp check-in feature, fresh meals onboard long-haul flights and sustainable amenity kits.
New functionalities via the airline’s WhatsApp channel allow passengers to check in and obtain their boarding pass, review reservation details and receive notifications about their flight.
Purchases will be available for certain services imminently, such as additional luggage. An exclusive WhatsApp channel has also opened for Iberia Plus Platinum, Infinita and Infinita Prime customers.
Onboard meals on long-haul flights have also been renewed.
Those in Business class can find octopus marinated in orange and paprika, accompanied by potatoes and escarole sprouts; grilled beef tenderloin in oxtail juice; grilled prawns in a creamy seafood sauce; and handmade panzerotti pasta filled with parmesan.
Passengers in Premium Economy can opt for salad with mayonnaise and Piquillo pepper or braised beef cheeks on a white bean mousseline.
In Economy, homemade meatballs in romesco sauce is available.
New sustainable toiletry bags designed by Teresa Helbig are also available in both Business and Premium Economy class on long-haul flights.
The amenity kits, which are available in Business class, are made from 7.5 million recycled plastic bottles.
Crafted by Uvas Frescas, all cosmetics inside are vegan and made from the grape harvest surplus used to make Araex wines onboard Iberia flights. Its packaging is made from sugar cane.
