HACO showcases gluten-free line at IFSA

Harvey Alpert and Co (HACO) has been supplying airlines with food and drinks since 1977 and had a strong presence at the 50th IFSA Global Expo, showcasing a broad range of brands and products.

Pamela Leuthardt, a member of the sales team, explained that HACO represents King Nut, which specialises in producing custom snacks for airlines, including snack mixes and pretzels. Ahead of the show, King Nut’s research and development team developed a selection of “on-trend flavours” with influences from around the world, including  Moroccan spiced almonds and chili mango cashews.

Products from Nature’s Basics – a clean label brand with fresh flavours and natural produce – were being showcased. The brand’s packaging features 40% post-consumer recycled material.

A Whe Eat Smart gluten-free line was unveiled at the 2024 IFSA Global EXPO. Products included pretzels made from cassava flour, snack mixes and an Asian rice cracker.

Mixers from True Citrus are available in stick-like sachets. “You mix them with water and your alcohol and some ice, or you can mix them with a ginger ale or seltzer. And then you have an alcoholic drink that you can put onboard the plane that takes up limited space and offers an upgrade for the passengers with mixers and drinks that you already have on board. It adds something new and fresh,” explained Pamela.
