GIC International Catering (GIC) will begin providing inflight catering to Cubana de Aviación, the national carrier of Cuba, from December 2025.
It will serve two weekly connections between Frankfurt and Havana on Wednesdays (with a stopover in Holguín) and Saturdays, with an Airbus A330-200 with 287 seats. This is the only direct connection between Germany and Cuba in winter 2025/2026.
Freshly-prepared meals onboard will include sous-vide cooked beef short ribs with truffled potato casserole, cod in a walnut mustard crust accompanied by fresh baby vegetables or boletus ravioli served in a creamy pesto sauce.
GIC, which specialises in bespoke onboard catering, currently serves 21 airlines clients at Frankfurt Airport.
Göksel Yildirim, CEO of GIC International Catering, said: “For 25 years now we have been combining highest quality with individual service and are delighted to expand our international network.
“From December, Cubana passengers can look forward to authentic, freshly-prepared menus with a Cuban twist which we will create with attention to detail. Our goal is not to solely deliver a good meal but to create real culinary delight – even at 10,000 metres altitude.”
Family-owned GIC is based in Kelsterbach near Frankfurt Airport and produces up to 5,000 meals a day for airline passengers.
