Foodfolk Australia has secured an AUD$1m grant from the Government of Western Australia and its Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development to support the construction of a new catering facility at Perth Airport.

The Value Add Investment Grant will help the family-owned business in the next stage of its $10 million expansion project. It will be channelled into supporting Foodfolk Australia to relocate and upgrade its operations at Perth Airport.

The investment means that Foodfolk Australia will be able to triple its capacity for meal production, showcase more locally grown and produced ingredients and create in the region of 100 new jobs.

“This project isn’t just about growth – it’s about continuing to create meaningful impact in our community. From catering to international airlines to serving the health, mining and events sectors, our mission is to deliver ‘Good food for good folk’ wherever they are,” states the Foodfolk Australia LinkedIn page.

A statement on the Government of Western Australia’s website explains that the Value Add Investment Grants programme is helping agri-food and beverage businesses across the state to take on expansion plans, providing a boost for local economies and supply chains.
