Foodfolk Australia opens premises by Perth Airport

Foodfolk Australia has opened a new, custom-built facility in Perth, Western Australia.

The 9,500-square-metre facility has hot, cold and speciality kitchens. It also has meal production and plating rooms, a bonded warehouse, cold and dry storage rooms, a bar and temperature-controlled dispatch areas, as well as a quarantined waste facility.

Offering both fresh and frozen production, the facility’s capacity is more than 40,000 meals per day.

Foodfolk Australia makes them for the aviation, healthcare, major events and convenience food markets.

The new facility will allow the family-owned business to support both Perth Airport’s international growth and Western Australia’s tourism surge, which is driving unprecedented demand for inflight catering.

Additionally, Foodfolk Australia has begun fitting out a Melbourne facility. Scheduled for completion in early 2026, the facility is positioned near Australia’s second-busiest airport. The site will also tap into the market for aviation catering and the ready and frozen meals sector.

Salim Hazife, Managing Director of Foodfolk Australia, commented: After many years of planning and two years of construction, we are now in our forever home at Perth Airport. The space allows us the opportunity to grow and show many other airlines what personalised service is all about.”
