Finnair has revealed a new short-haul cabin onboard its Embraer 190 aircraft.
The carrier’s first refurbished aircraft returned to service from Exeter Airport in the UK.
There will be new seats in Business (rows 1-9) and Economy (rows 10-25) with increased cushioning. LED lighting has also been added.
Both seats are lighter than their predecessors. The carpet is also made of a lighter material, making each aircraft 150kg lighter than before.
Seven of Finnair’s E190 aircraft will be refurbished this winter, with the remainder of the fleet to be completed by spring 2026.
The E190 jet operates both domestic and European routes, including Edinburgh, Dublin and Manchester to Helsinki.
Eerika Enne, Head of Inflight Customer Experience at Finnair, said: “After receiving positive feedback following the rollout of our new long-haul cabin, we wanted to invest in our regional aircraft to further improve comfort on flights within Europe. Our aim was to create a harmonious, fresh and inviting travel environment for our passengers, with dark blue and grey colours and a hint of wooden laminate – colours our passengers now associate with Finnair.
“We look forward to welcoming passengers onboard our newly refurbished aircraft in the coming months and with new lighter seats and cabins, we know these aircraft will help Finnair fly into the future.”
