New wine list from Emirates

Emirates will introduce its new 2024 wine collection for global flights this month.

The move came after the airline’s investment into wine and Champagne last year topped AED 186 million (US$50.65m).

White and red Burgundy wines will be available onboard in the coming months. Selections include the Montrachet 2011, Chevalier Montrachet 2013 and Corton Charlemagne 2014 Premier and Grand Cru white wines as well as Échezeaux, Clos Vougeot and Chambertin Grand Cru red wines.

A selection of First Growths from Bordeaux, the topmost level of the Bordeaux Classification of 1855, will be introduced in the coming years. Historically, châteaux were graded on their quality, price and reputation, as requested by Emperor Napoleon III.

Options will hail from renowned estates such as Château Mouton, Château Margaux, Château Haut-Brion, Château Cheval Blanc and Château d’Yquem

The airline currently offers 36 different varieties of French wines and Champagnes onboard its aircraft. Since 2006, more than US$1 billion has been invested into its wine programme.

Emirates claims to have the most extensive wine cellar of any airline, with dedicated facilities in France. These sites house around 6 million bottles of fine wine, some of which won’t be served until 2037.
