Burrana power solution takes off on Jetstar’s 787-8s

The first Jetstar aircraft with Burrana’s RISE Power + Passenger Service Solution is now in service.

A retrofit programme encompasses Jetstar’s fleet of 11 Boeing 787-8 Dreamliners. It introduces Burrana’s integrated seat power and passenger service platform, including the first installation of dual 60W USB-C outlets at every seat across both Business and Economy classes, serving a total of 325 passengers.

Each seat is equipped with a passenger control unit supporting reading light and attendant call functions, alongside dual 60W USB-C outlets capable of charging personal electronic devices in under an hour.

Jetstar is the launch customer for Burrana’s power-centric cabin architecture, integrating passenger service functionality directly into the RISE Power platform.

Embedding passenger controls within the seat power system eliminates the need for additional seat hardware and reduces weight, installation complexity and aircraft wiring.

David Pook, Vice President Global Marketing and Sales at Burrana, said: “The entry into service of the first Jetstar aircraft equipped with RISE Power + PSS represents an important milestone for Burrana and our airline partners. As more airlines transition toward wireless entertainment and connected cabin experiences, integrated seat power and passenger service functionality becomes critical cabin infrastructure on wide-body aircraft.”
