British Airways has launched its British Original Christmas with a bespoke seasonal menu, festive treats and a limited-edition amenity kit.
Long-haul flyers on selected routes can enjoy a traditional British turkey dinner with all the trimmings. There is also a vegetarian option.
First class passengers can also find a limited-edition Alice Temperley amenity kit. Those travelling from December 23 to 25 can expect a collectable Christmas bauble, too.
A bespoke box of British Cartwright & Butler Fudge is available to Club World passengers, while those in World Traveller can expect a complimentary Christmas hat with their meal between December 15 and 27.
Passengers on short-haul flights, meanwhile, can find a festive menu at the High Life Café. Dishes include Tom Kerridge’s Ultimate Turkey Feast sandwich, The Jolly Hog ‘pigs in blankets’ roll and sweet treats from Pullins Bakery. Club Europe flyers can expect the menu from December 4 to 27.
Young travellers can enjoy chocolate treats and Peggy and Leon activity sheets. They can send ‘special mail’ directly to the North Pole by posting it through Santa’s letterbox in the airline’s Heathrow Terminal 5 lounges.
Other festive touches include specially designed headrest covers and a dedicated Christmas inflight entertainment (IFE) channel. Drinks on offer are Twinings Christmas tea and a glass of BrewDog Hoppy Christmas IPA.
Those travelling through the airline’s Heathrow and Gatwick lounges can pick up special gifts at pop-up festive stalls. There will be a host of original British brands on offer, including individually wrapped chocolates by Harry Specters and The Cocoabean Company in its Club (Business class) lounges.
Visitors to the Concorde Room lounge at Heathrow can sample Talisker’s exclusive limited-edition 45-year-old Scotch whisky between December 23 and 25.
A bespoke winter picnic menu will also be available in all British Airways Heathrow lounges, including mince pies, brie and cranberry sandwiches. There will be a Christmas cocktail, too.
In the airline’s First lounge, Santa’s helpers are on hand to wrap last-minute gifts.
Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer at British Airways, said: “Christmas is such a special time and this year is no different. We want to make it truly special, so we have pulled out all the stops to spread some cheer and create a truly British Original Christmas.
