Retail hope for suppliers while grounded

QuietOn headphones specialist has notched up a small victory in the midst of the COVID-19 downturn with a new listing in the online Qantas Store
Jere Tala, commercial director at QuietOn, explains: “Airline online shops are currently very busy as many customers are redeeming their miles/points to buy products rather than flight tickets while travel options are limited. Loyalty programmes such Asia Miles and KrisShop are seeing high traffic now and our we are optimistic about our new listing on the Qantas Store.
“What started as a fantastic 2020 for QuietOn Sleep, our newest product, has now come to an almost complete stand still overnight. As a small company we have had to adjust fast to find new revenue streams to keep our product in the travel retail. We are excited to now be listed on the Qantas Store because with travellers not being able to fly, this is the perfect time for them to spend those hard-earned miles and points. Airlines are pushing this as it will help them have at least some revenue when they can’t operate passenger flights.”
QuietOn Sleep is also available on other loyalty programmes such as KrisShop, Miles and More and EVA Sky Shop.
The company is a small startup company from Finland established by ex-Nokia engineers specialising in audio technology. It is focused on bringing quietude into the noisy world by using the latest tech innovations.
Its first product, QuietOn Original, was top seller on Singapore Airlines when launches and is still sold onboard Air France and Alitalia. QuietOn Sleep is featured primarily on Asian airlines such as SIA, Cathay Pacific, EVA Air, Air Macau and others. It is designed, as the name suggests, to support good quality sleep and blocks snoring and other sleep disturbing sounds through active noise-cancelling technology. The earbuds are said to be the smallest in the world.
