Beauty in the details: Monte Vibiano and Linstol impress in Hamburg

Acrobatics, immersive soundscapes and awe-inspiring projections told a story at Monte Vibiano and Linstol’s co-hosted party in Hamburg

Castello Monte Vibiano and Linstol hosted a night to remember in Hamburg in April, inviting industry delegates and attendees of the World Travel Catering & Onboard Services Expo (WTCE) to witness a display of remarkable creativity and hospitality.

The evening event took over the Mozartsäle, a historic and elegant venue in the heart of Hamburg that provided a backdrop for immersive storytelling through sound, animation and acrobatic performances.

The show’s main event was an animation depicting the history of flight – and, indeed, mankind – projected on all four walls of a main hall’s neoclassical architecture.

On the night, Mark Russell, CEO of Linstol, said: “It’s hard to explain how short a period in time flight actually is. It goes back to the sketches of Leonardo Da Vinci. Tonight, I hope you enjoy some of that imagination.”

Donning over-ear headphones provided by Linstol, delegates were transported through time with immersive and atmospheric music accompanying the story told through the projections.

This included music by Mozart, the namesake of the venue – who’s transformation of complex compositions into emotionally resonant experiences served as a reflection on how a thoughtfully-designed passenger journey can transform a functional flight into something more memorable.

Following this, two performers showcased their acrobatic talents on stage, defying expectations of the human body’s capabilities – reflective of the expectations defied by the invention of flight, and indeed the passenger experience.

Speaking on Onboard Hospitality after the event, Lorenzo Fasola Bologna, CEO of Monte Vibiano, explained the key point of focus from the evening: “If I had to sum it up in one word, it would be lifestyle. We brought together Monte Vibiano and Linstol because each company has its own story to tell, but the real magic happens when we combine our skills and create an experience everyone can be proud to showcase.”

The event was also designed to represent a shift in focus within the expectations for the travel experience.

“Travel is changing,” said Bologna. “Today, every single passenger is the most important passenger, because everyone has a voice. Airlines are rethinking not just how to serve food onboard, but what special experience they can create with every meal.”

“Food has become one of the most important parts of the airline experience. People might not choose an airline just for caviar, but they absolutely remember how the overall experience made them feel – and food is at the heart of that.”

“Today, everything is about the details – every single one of them matters.”

After the performance concluded, attendees enjoyed food and drink showcasing Monte Vibiano’s rich Italian heritage, accompanied by a DJ set mixed by a DJ straight from Ibiza.
