The 2023 APEX/IFSA Global EXPO was held from September 19-21 at the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center in Long Beach, California. The theme of the event was Reimaging the Passenger Journey.
Along with members of the Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX) and International Flight Services Association (IFSA), representatives of airlines were present at the trade show.
For the first time, the APEX/IFSA Global EXPO was co-located with its Future Travel Experience (FTE) counterpart. The theme of the FTE Global was Air Transport 2030.
The 2023 APEX/IFSA Global EXPO was declared open by Dr Joe Leader, Group CEO of APEX/IFSA/FTE, during a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony in the foyer of Long Beach Convention Center. He then headed on stage and presided over the FTE Global’s opening keynote session, with Daniel Coleman, FTE Founder.
During the course of the APEX/IFSA Global EXPO, a number of key topics were discussed at the IFSA Innovation Pavilion. ‘Onboard CX: the Ancillary Revenue Revolution’ was discussed on Tuesday, September 19. Sustainability was at the core of the ‘REvolutionize = REinvent + Recycle’ presentation held a day later.
The final day was given over to a thought leadership conference featuring airline CEOs. His Excellency Akbar Al Baker of Qatar Airways, Dina Ben Tal Ganancia from EL AL and Spirit Airlines’ Ted Christie were among the airline executives who took to the main stage. It also featured breakout sessions centred around the themes of Content, Connectivity and Customer.
The date and location of the 2024 APEX/IFSA Global EXPO have already been announced. It will be held from October 28-30 and the show will be returning to the Long Beach Convention and Entertainment Center.
