The Future of Inflight Catering

Join the Onboard Hospitality team and experts in the inflight catering field for an engaging webinar on the positive solutions emerging for the ‘new normal’ for onboard F&B. The session will include a deep dive into the post-COVID challenges, and a panel debate covering the current vogue for boxed concept. We will also look at how pre-ordering technology, supply chain change and travel retail can provide solutions airlines need now without compromising on established sustainability priorities.

Deep dive:
Onboard Hospitality editor, Julie Baxter, will get the ball rolling with an in-depth interview with Sarah Klatt-Walsh, now an independent inflight consultant, with over 30 years’ in the inflight industry. Sarah has created numerous culinary, hospitality, cabin and sustainability concepts over the years including the SWISS Taste of Switzerland programme which is still flying today. She started her career with Gate Gourmet and has worked for Swissair, SWISS and British Airways, served on several industry Boards and Judging Panels and is a past winner of the Onboard Hospitality Lifetime Achievement Award. She will share her views on the current Covid-crisis and its impact on the future of inflight catering.

Genevieve Rosario, Senior Manager, Product Development & Service Design at Qatar Airways, Stefan Patermann, Chief Executive Officer, Retail inMotion and Marc Warde, Director Libero Meals will follow the themes set in the deep dive interview and debate post-COVID inflight service, technological solutions that can help and the food trends and wellbeing imperative now increasingly on the menu.

Rebuilding onboard confidence

Join the Onboard Hospitality team and experts in cabin hygiene for a session focused on how the inflight sector can help rebuild passenger confidence and tap the growing demand for overt wellbeing measures in the air. We’ll spotlight pioneering wellness programmes and new hygiene and comfort solutions, and the panel will address head on the challenges of PPE as Single Use Plastics regulations tighten and the need for closed-loop solutions increases.

Onboard Hospitality editor, Julie Baxter, will be in debate with Linda Celestino, Vice President Guest Experience at Etihad Airways, an aviation industry leader and customer experience expert. Having spent her entire professional career (nearly four decades!) in aviation, Linda has worked through the ranks – from cabin crew to senior executive – making an indelible mark along the way. At Etihad she wears many hats – from overseeing 7,000 cabin crew and ensuring safe, consistent and innovative services onboard and on the ground, to designing and leading inflight product and service delivery; from driving the brand and product design and strategy to looking after the entire guest journey. Aviation is really and truly in her blood.

Federico Heitz, CEO Kaelis; Keith Yates, Director, Yates+, and David Young, Executive Manager – Sustainability and Future Planet, Qantas Airways, join our panel to debate the challenges and opportunities emerging post-COVID, the new hygiene imperatives and the implications of shifting priorities going forward.
