Q.Tell us a little about the product, its background and how it came to market
A. The Zodiac Cool Trolley features a smart thermal design which allows for the contents to be kept under 8°C for up to 10 hours with dry ice, and up to 20 hours with cooling cassettes.
Q.What do you think puts this product ahead of others in the same field?
A. Able to keep contents cool for up to 2.3 times longer than regular trolleys, the Zodiac Cool Trolley is the first and only certified onboard catering trolley available in the market with such properties.
Q.What need or onboard trend does the product address?
A. The Zodiac Cool Trolley taps into the growing demand for non-electric cooling solutions. Airlines flying on longer routes with narrowbody aircraft require adapted catering operations, especially when there are no chillers onboard. Globally, there is an increasing trend for return catering as a means for airlines to save costs associated with outstations (meal uplift, delays, etc).
Q.How does your team develop or source new on-board products and ensure it stays ahead of the curve?
A. Our strong customer network enables us to be on top of the market needs, and we proactively involve airlines (e.g. by offering trials). Together with our innovation center teams, we also partner with other experts in the field to develop the best solutions.
